At Pioneer Credit Union, we value the trust that you have placed in us. That is why we welcome this opportunity to describe our privacy policy and the steps we take to protect your member information. This policy applies to our consumer members who have a continuing relationship with us such as a deposit account, loan account, credit card, safe deposit box, self-directed Individual Retirement Account, and financial, investment or economic advisory services.
We, our, and us means Pioneer Credit Union.
Nonpublic personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.
An affiliate is a company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means enough to have control.
A nonaffiliated third party is a company that is not an affiliate of ours.
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources: information we receive from you on applications or other forms, information about your transactions with us and others, and information from a consumer reporting agency. We collect this information about you and your accounts to ensure account security, improve our member service, process your accounts more efficiently and help design new products and services that we believe you will find useful. Occasionally we may verify the public information we collect with sources outside the credit union in order to ensure account security.
In order to protect your privacy, we restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information. We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about former members, except as permitted by law.
We do not share our member information with outside marketers or other companies to allow them to independently solicit you for their products or services.
We do occasionally engage in joint marketing efforts with nonaffiliated financial institutions for various financial products and services that Pioneer Credit Union does not offer on its own. In such cases, we may disclose all of the information we collect to the companies that perform marketing services on our behalf that have a joint marketing agreement with us. Our agreements with these companies are subject to confidentiality provisions and restrictions that prohibit using the information beyond the performance of the specified services or in connection with the joint marketed product or service.
If you prefer that we not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties, you may opt out of these disclosures. In other words, you may direct us not to make these disclosures, other than disclosures permitted by law. To opt out, please contact us at pioneer@pioneercu.org to receive an Opt-Out notice which you can complete, sign and return to us.
